⁸ I will devastate this city and make it an object of horror and scorn;^(A) all who pass by will be appalled^(B) and will scoff because of all its wounds.^(C)

⁴ For this is what the Lord says: ‘I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; with your own eyes^(A) you will see them fall by the sword of their enemies. I will give^(B) all Judah into the hands of the king of Babylon, who will carry^(C) them away to Babylon or put them to the sword.

²⁰ The inhabited towns will be laid waste and the land will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the Lord.^(A)’”
