² For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in,

²² But the father said to his servants,^[a] ‘Bring quickly ^(A)the best robe, and put it on him, and put ^(B)a ring on his hand, and ^(C)shoes on his feet.

^2 (A)And the king took off his signet ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.

^10 (A)So the king took his signet ring from his hand and gave it to Haman ^(B)the Agagite, the son of Hammedatha, ^(C)the enemy of the Jews.

⁸ What then did you go out to see? A man^[a] dressed in soft clothing? Behold, those who wear soft clothing are in kings' houses. ⁹ What then did you go out to see? ^(A)A prophet?^[b] Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.

³ Now ^(A)Joshua was standing before the angel, ^(B)clothed with filthy garments. ⁴ And the angel said to ^(C)those who were standing before him, ^(D)“Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, ^(E)I have taken your iniquity away from you, and ^(F)I will clothe you with pure vestments.”

¹⁵ Then Rebekah took the ^(A)best garments of Esau her older son, which were with her in the house, and put them on Jacob her younger son.
