Wesele w Kanie Galilejskiej
2 Trzeciego dnia odbywało się wesele w Kanie Galilejskiej. Była na nim matka Jezusa. 2 Jezus wraz z uczniami też został zaproszony. 3 W pewnej chwili zabrakło wina. Wtedy matka Jezusa powiedziała do Niego: Nie mają wina.
4 Jezus jej odpowiedział: Rozumiem twoje zatroskanie, ale co Mnie do tego, kobieto? Jeszcze nie nadeszła moja godzina.
5 Wtedy Jego matka zwróciła się do posługujących: Zróbcie, cokolwiek wam powie!
6 A było tam sześć kamiennych stągwi, ustawionych według żydowskich reguł czystości, każda mieszcząca około stu litrów wody. 7 Jezus polecił: Napełnijcie stągwie wodą! I napełnili je aż po brzegi. 8 Wówczas powiedział: Teraz zaczerpnijcie i zanieście staroście wesela! I zanieśli.
9 Gdy starosta spróbował wody, która stała się winem — a nie wiedział, skąd się ono wzięło, gdyż wiedzieli o tym tylko posługujący, którzy jej zaczerpnęli — zawołał pana młodego 10 i powiedział: Każdy stawia najpierw dobre wino, a gdy goście sobie podpiją — gorsze; ty jednak dobre wino zachowałeś aż do tej pory.
11 W taki właśnie sposób, w Kanie Galilejskiej, Jezus dał początek znakom, ukazał swą chwałę i sprawił, że uczniowie uwierzyli w Niego.
12 Potem wraz z matką, braćmi i uczniami udał się do Kafarnaum, gdzie razem spędzili kilka dni.
Jezus i lekcja o świątyni
13 Zbliżała się Pascha i Jezus udał się do Jerozolimy. 14 Zastał w świątyni sprzedających woły, owce i gołębie oraz — przy swoich stanowiskach — ludzi, którzy trudnili się wymianą pieniędzy. 15 Wtedy ze sznurków ukręcił bicz i wszystkich — w tym owce i woły — wypędził ze świątyni, wymieniającym pieniądze rozsypał monety, powywracał stoły, 16 a sprzedawcom gołębi powiedział: Zabierzcie to stąd, przestańcie robić targowisko z domu mego Ojca!
17 Jego uczniowie przypomnieli sobie słowa Pisma: Żarliwość o Twój dom Mnie pochłania.
18 Wtedy Żydzi zwrócili się do Niego: Jakim znakiem uzasadnisz ten swój czyn?
19 Jezus odpowiedział: Zburzcie tę świątynię, a ja wzniosę ją w trzy dni.
20 Żydzi na to: Czterdzieści sześć lat budowano tę świątynię, a Ty wzniesiesz ją w trzy dni? 21 Jednak mówiąc o świątyni, Jezus miał na myśli swoje ciało. 22 Gdy więc został wzbudzony z martwych, Jego uczniowie przypomnieli sobie, że to mówił — i uwierzyli Pismu oraz Słowu, które wypowiedział.
Jezus wobec ludzkich tajemnic
23 A gdy przebywał w Jerozolimie w czasie Paschy, wielu uwierzyło w Jego imię, widząc znaki, które czynił. 24 Jezus jednak im nie ufał, dlatego że znał wszystkich 25 i nie potrzebował świadectwa o człowieku. Sam bowiem rozpoznawał, co się w każdym kryje.

Jezus zamienia wodę w wino
2 Dwa dni później, w Kanie Galilejskiej, odbywało się wesele, w którym uczestniczyła matka Jezusa. 2 Zaproszono na nie również Jezusa i Jego uczniów. 3 I zdarzyło się tak, że zabrakło wina. Matka powiedziała o tym Jezusowi:
—Nie mają już wina.
4 —To chyba nie jest ani mój, ani twój problem—odpowiedział. —Jeszcze nie przyszła na Mnie pora.
5 Ona jednak poleciła służbie:
—Zróbcie wszystko, co wam powie.
6 A stało tam sześć kamiennych dzbanów, przygotowanych do żydowskiego obrzędu oczyszczenia. Każdy z nich mógł pomieścić jakieś osiemdziesiąt lub sto litrów. 7 Jezus powiedział więc:
—Napełnijcie je wodą.
A gdy słudzy nalali wody aż po brzegi, dodał:
8 —Zaczerpnijcie teraz i zanieście gospodarzowi wesela.
9 Gdy gospodarz skosztował wody przemienionej w wino (nie wiedząc, skąd się wzięło, choć słudzy wiedzieli), zawołał pana młodego i rzekł:
10 —Zazwyczaj najpierw podaje się lepsze wino. Później, gdy goście już sobie podpiją—trochę gorsze. A ty najlepsze zostawiłeś na koniec.
11 W ten oto sposób w Kanie Galilejskiej Jezus dokonał pierwszego cudu. Objawił przez to swoją chwałę i uwierzyli w Niego Jego uczniowie.
Jezus oczyszcza świątynię
12 Po weselu, razem z matką, braćmi i uczniami udał się na kilka dni do Kafarnaum. 13 Ponieważ zbliżało się święto Paschy, Jezus poszedł do Jerozolimy. 14 W świątyni natknął się na kupców sprzedających bydło, owce i gołębie ofiarne. Spotkał tam też ludzi zajmujących się wymianą pieniędzy. 15 Zrobił więc sobie bicz ze sznurów i zaczął wszystkich wyganiać ze świątyni—zwierzęta też. Powywracał stoły wymieniających pieniądze i porozrzucał monety. 16 Sprzedającym gołębie rozkazał:
—Zabierajcie się stąd! Nie róbcie targowiska z domu mojego Ojca!
17 Wtedy uczniowie przypomnieli sobie słowa Pisma: „Jestem pochłonięty troską o Twój dom”.
18 Żydowscy przywódcy dopytywali Jezusa:
—Jakim prawem wyrzuciłeś ze świątyni sprzedawców? Czy uwiarygodnisz to jakimś znakiem z nieba?
19 —Tak—odpowiedział Jezus. —Zburzcie tę świątynię, a Ja w trzy dni ją odbuduję.
20 —Co takiego?!—wykrzyknęli. —Budowano ją czterdzieści sześć lat, a ty odbudujesz ją w trzy dni?!
21 Lecz Jezus, mówiąc o świątyni, miał na myśli własne ciało. 22 Gdy zmartwychwstał, uczniowie przypomnieli sobie tę wypowiedź i uwierzyli Pismu i słowom Jezusa.
23 W czasie tego święta wielu ludzi uwierzyło w Niego. Widzieli bowiem cuda, jakie czynił w Jerozolimie. 24 Ale Jezus nie ufał im, bo znał serca wszystkich ludzi. 25 Nie potrzebował też, aby ktoś Go przekonywał o swoich intencjach. Dokładnie bowiem wiedział, co się kryje w każdym człowieku.

Jesus Changes Water Into Wine
2 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee.(A) Jesus’ mother(B) was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
4 “Woman,[a](C) why do you involve me?”(D) Jesus replied. “My hour(E) has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”(F)
6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing,(G) each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[b]
7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.
8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”
They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine.(H) He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs(I) through which he revealed his glory;(J) and his disciples believed in him.(K)
12 After this he went down to Capernaum(L) with his mother(M) and brothers(N) and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.
Jesus Clears the Temple Courts(O)
13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover,(P) Jesus went up to Jerusalem.(Q) 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves,(R) and others sitting at tables exchanging money.(S) 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house(T) into a market!” 17 His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”[c](U)
18 The Jews(V) then responded to him, “What sign(W) can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”(X)
19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”(Y)
20 They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body.(Z) 22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said.(AA) Then they believed the scripture(AB) and the words that Jesus had spoken.
23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival,(AC) many people saw the signs(AD) he was performing and believed(AE) in his name.[d] 24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. 25 He did not need any testimony about mankind,(AF) for he knew what was in each person.(AG)

2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.
13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;
16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
