James 1:11-13

¹¹For the sun rises with its scorching heat and ^(A)withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.

¹²^(B)Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive ^(C)the crown of life, ^(D)which God has promised to those who love him. ¹³Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.

¹¹For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

¹²Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

¹³Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

¹¹For the sun rises with ^(A)its scorching heat and ^(B)withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so also the rich person, in the midst of his pursuits, will die out.

¹²^(C)Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has ^[a]been approved, he will receive ^(D)the crown of life which the Lord ^(E)has promised to those who ^(F)love Him. ¹³No one is to say when he is tempted, “^(G)I am being tempted ^[b]by God”; for God cannot be tempted ^[c]by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.
