16 Sapagka't silang nagsisipatnubay ng bayang ito ay siyang nangagliligaw; at silang pinapatnubayan ay nangapapahamak.
17 Kaya't ang Panginoon ay hindi magagalak sa kanilang mga binata, ni mahahabag man sa kanilang mga ulila at mga babaing bao: sapagka't bawa't isa ay (A)marumi at manggagawa ng kasamaan, at bawa't bibig ay nagsasalita ng kamangmangan. (B)Sa lahat na ito ang galit niya ay hindi napawi, kundi ang kaniyang kamay ay laging nakaunat.
18 Sapagka't ang kasamaan ay (C)sumusunog na gaya ng apoy; pumupugnaw ng mga dawag at mga tinikan: oo, nagaalab na sa siitan sa gubat, at umiilanglang na paitaas sa mga masinsing ulap na usok.

Isaiah 9:16-18
New International Version
16 Those who guide(A) this people mislead them,
and those who are guided are led astray.(B)
17 Therefore the Lord will take no pleasure in the young men,(C)
nor will he pity(D) the fatherless and widows,
for everyone is ungodly(E) and wicked,(F)
every mouth speaks folly.(G)
Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away,
his hand is still upraised.(H)

16 For (A)the leaders of this people cause them to err,
And those who are led by them are destroyed.
17 Therefore the Lord (B)will have no joy in their young men,
Nor have mercy on their fatherless and widows;
For everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer,
And every mouth speaks [a]folly.
(C)For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still.
18 For wickedness (D)burns as the fire;
It shall devour the briers and thorns,
And kindle in the thickets of the forest;
They shall mount up like rising smoke.

and has no compassion on their fatherless and widows;

18 For wickedness burns like (E)a fire;
it consumes briers and thorns;
it kindles the thickets of the forest,
and they roll upward in a column of smoke.
