Babala at Pag-asa
8 Sinabi sa akin ni Yahweh, “Kumuha ka ng isang malapad na tapyas ng bato at isulat mo sa malalaking letra ang mga sumusunod: ‘Kay Maher-salal-has-baz.’[a] 2 Ikuha mo ako ng dalawang saksing mapagkakatiwalaan: ang paring si Urias at si Zacarias na anak ni Jeberequias.”
3 Sinipingan ko ang aking asawa. Siya'y naglihi at nanganak ng isang lalaki. At sinabi sa akin ni Yahweh: “Ang ipangalan mo sa kanya'y Maher-salal-has-baz. 4 Sapagkat bago pa siya matutong tumawag ng ‘Tatay’ o ‘Nanay,’ ang kayamanan ng Damasco at ang mga nasamsam ng Samaria ay dadalhin ng hari ng Asiria.”
5 Sinabi pa sa akin ni Yahweh:
6 “Sapagkat tinanggihan ng bayang ito ang tubig ng Siloe na umaagos nang banayad,
at nangangatog[b] sila sa harapan ni Rezin, at ng anak ni Remalias;
7 ipadadala sa kanila ng Panginoon ang hari ng Asiria at ang kanyang mga hukbo,
na lulusob tulad ng malakas na agos ng Ilog Eufrates.
8 Parang baha ito na aagos sa Juda,
tataas ang tubig nang hanggang leeg, at lalaganap ito sa buong lupain mo, O Emmanuel.”
9 Magsama-sama man kayo mga bansa ay mawawasak din kayo!
Makinig kayo, mga bansang nasa malalayong dako.
Maghanda man kayo sa pakikipaglaban ay matatakot din kayo.
10 Magplano man kayo, tiyak na kayo'y mabibigo;
magpulong man kayo, wala ring mangyayari,
sapagkat ang Diyos ay kasama namin.
Binalaan ni Yahweh ang Propeta
11 Sa pamamagitan ng kanyang dakilang kapangyarihan, binalaan ako ni Yahweh
na huwag kong sundan ang mga landas na dinadaanan ng mga taong ito.
12 Sinabi(A) niya, “Huwag kayong maniwala sa sabwatan na sinasabi ng bansang ito;
huwag kayong matakot sa kanilang kinatatakutan.
13 Ngunit si Yahweh, ang Makapangyarihan sa lahat, ang dapat ninyong kilalanin bilang Banal.
Siya ang dapat ninyong igalang at dapat katakutan.
14 Sa(B) dalawang kaharian ng Israel,
siya'y magiging isang santuwaryo, isang batong katitisuran;
bitag at patibong para sa mga naninirahan sa Jerusalem.
15 Dahil sa kanya, marami ang babagsak, mabubuwal at masusugatan;
marami rin ang masisilo at mahuhulog sa bitag.”
Babala Laban sa Pagsangguni sa Patay
16 Ingatan mo at pagtibayin ang mensaheng ito para sa aking mga alagad.
17 Maghihintay(C) ako kay Yahweh na tumalikod sa sambahayan ni Jacob;
at sa kanya ako aasa.
18 Ako(D) at ang mga anak na kaloob sa akin ni Yahweh
ay palatandaan at sagisag sa Israel,
mula kay Yahweh na Makapangyarihan sa lahat na naninirahan sa Bundok ng Zion.
19 Kapag may nagsabi sa inyo: “Sumangguni kayo sa mga espiritu ng namatay at sa mga manghuhula.
Hindi ba dapat sumangguni ang mga tao sa kanilang diyos at patay para sa mga buháy?”
20 Ganito ang inyong isasagot, “Nasa inyo ang aral at tagubilin ng Diyos!
Huwag kayong makikinig sa mga sumasangguni sa espiritu,
ipapahamak lang kayo ng mga iyon.”
Panahon ng Kaguluhan
21 Maglalakbay sila sa lupain na pagod na pagod at gutom na gutom,
magwawala sila dahil sa gutom at susumpain ang kanilang hari at ang kanilang diyos.
Titingala sila sa langit
22 at igagala nila ang kanilang mata sa lupa,
ngunit wala silang makikita kundi kaguluhan at kadiliman;
isang nakakatakot na kadiliman kung saan sila itatapon.

Isaiah and His Children as Signs
8 The Lord said to me, “Take a large scroll(A) and write on it with an ordinary pen: Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz.”[a](B) 2 So I called in Uriah(C) the priest and Zechariah son of Jeberekiah as reliable witnesses(D) for me. 3 Then I made love to the prophetess,(E) and she conceived and gave birth to a son.(F) And the Lord said to me, “Name him Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz.(G) 4 For before the boy knows(H) how to say ‘My father’ or ‘My mother,’ the wealth of Damascus(I) and the plunder of Samaria will be carried off by the king of Assyria.(J)”
5 The Lord spoke to me again:
6 “Because this people has rejected(K)
the gently flowing waters of Shiloah(L)
and rejoices over Rezin
and the son of Remaliah,(M)
7 therefore the Lord is about to bring against them
the mighty floodwaters(N) of the Euphrates—
the king of Assyria(O) with all his pomp.(P)
It will overflow all its channels,
run over all its banks(Q)
8 and sweep on into Judah, swirling over it,(R)
passing through it and reaching up to the neck.
Its outspread wings(S) will cover the breadth of your land,
Immanuel[b]!”(T)
9 Raise the war cry,[c](U) you nations, and be shattered!(V)
Listen, all you distant lands.
Prepare(W) for battle, and be shattered!
Prepare for battle, and be shattered!
10 Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted;(X)
propose your plan, but it will not stand,(Y)
for God is with us.[d](Z)
11 This is what the Lord says to me with his strong hand upon me,(AA) warning me not to follow(AB) the way of this people:
12 “Do not call conspiracy(AC)
everything this people calls a conspiracy;
do not fear what they fear,(AD)
and do not dread it.(AE)
13 The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy,(AF)
he is the one you are to fear,(AG)
he is the one you are to dread.(AH)
14 He will be a holy place;(AI)
for both Israel and Judah he will be
a stone(AJ) that causes people to stumble(AK)
and a rock that makes them fall.(AL)
And for the people of Jerusalem he will be
a trap and a snare.(AM)
15 Many of them will stumble;(AN)
they will fall and be broken,
they will be snared and captured.”
16 Bind up this testimony of warning(AO)
and seal(AP) up God’s instruction among my disciples.
17 I will wait(AQ) for the Lord,
who is hiding(AR) his face from the descendants of Jacob.
I will put my trust in him.(AS)
18 Here am I, and the children the Lord has given me.(AT) We are signs(AU) and symbols(AV) in Israel from the Lord Almighty, who dwells on Mount Zion.(AW)
The Darkness Turns to Light
19 When someone tells you to consult(AX) mediums and spiritists,(AY) who whisper and mutter,(AZ) should not a people inquire(BA) of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? 20 Consult God’s instruction(BB) and the testimony of warning.(BC) If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light(BD) of dawn. 21 Distressed and hungry,(BE) they will roam through the land;(BF) when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse(BG) their king and their God. 22 Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom,(BH) and they will be thrust into utter darkness.(BI)

8 耶和華對我說：「你去拿塊大的寫字板，用通用的文字在上面寫上『瑪黑珥·沙拉勒·哈施·罷斯』[a]。 2 我會吩咐忠信的祭司烏利亞和耶比利迦的兒子撒迦利亞為這事做見證。」 3 我以賽亞與妻子同房，她就懷孕生了個兒子。耶和華對我說：「給他取名叫瑪黑珥·沙拉勒·哈施·罷斯。 4 因為這孩子會叫父親母親之前，亞述王必把大馬士革的財富和撒瑪利亞的戰利品洗劫一空。」 5 耶和華又對我說： 6 「因為這些人拒絕接受我如西羅亞河緩緩流水般的溫柔照顧，反倒因與利迅和利瑪利的兒子結盟而歡喜， 7 我要差來亞述王的軍隊，使他們像幼發拉底河的洪流一樣洶湧而來，淹沒一切水道，漫過河岸， 8 席捲猶大，使整個猶大幾遭滅頂之災。他必展開雙翼橫掃你的土地。」願上帝與我們同在！
9 列國啊，你們必被打垮、擊潰！
遠方的人啊，你們要聽！
整裝備戰吧，但你們必被擊垮！
整裝備戰吧，但你們必被擊垮！
10 你們設計謀吧，但休想得逞！
你們定策略吧，但休想成功！
因為上帝與我們同在。
當敬畏主
11 耶和華大能的手按在我身上，警告我不可效法這些人。祂說： 12 「他們認為是陰謀的，你們不要認為是陰謀。他們所怕的，你們不要怕，也不要畏懼。 13 你們當尊萬軍之耶和華為聖，當敬畏祂，畏懼祂。 14 祂必作人的聖所，也要作以色列和猶大的絆腳石和使人跌倒的磐石，作耶路撒冷居民的陷阱和網羅。 15 許多人必被絆倒，摔得粉身碎骨；他們必被網羅纏住、捕獲。」 16 我的門徒啊，你們要把上帝的訓誨捲起來，用印封好。 17 雖然耶和華掩面不顧雅各家，但我仍要等候祂，冀望於祂。 18 看啊，我和祂所賜給我的兒女在以色列是徵兆。這徵兆來自住在錫安山的萬軍之耶和華。 19 有人讓你們去求問那些念念有詞的巫師和術士，你們不要去。你們要去求問你們的上帝，活人的事怎能求問死人呢？ 20 人應該遵循耶和華的訓誨和法度。人若不遵循祂的話，必看不到曙光。 21 他們必困苦，饑餓，到處流浪，並在饑餓中怒氣沖沖地咒罵他們的君王，褻瀆上帝。 22 他們抬頭望天，低頭看地，看到的盡是患難、痛苦和黑暗。他們必被扔進黑暗中。
