Isaiah 8:8-10
International Standard Version

8 He will sweep on into Judah, overflowing as he passes through, like flood waters[a] reaching up to a person’s neck. His outstretched wings will flow as wide as your land, O Immanuel!”

9 “Band together,[b] you peoples,
    but be shattered!
        Listen, all you distant countries!
Strap on your armor,
        but be shattered.[c]
10 Take counsel together,
    but it will all be for nothing;
go ahead and talk,
    but[d] it will all be for nothing,[e]
        for God is with us.”[f]

9 “Be(C) shattered, O you peoples, and be broken in pieces!
Give ear, all you from far countries.
Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces;

10 (D)Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing;
Speak the word, (E)but it will not stand,
