Before He brings ^(B)darkness
And before your ^(C)feet stumble
On the mountains in the dark,
And while you are hoping for light
He makes it into ^(D)gloom,
And turns it into thick darkness.

¹⁵ For ^(A)My people have forgotten Me,
^(B)They burn incense ^[a]to worthless gods.
And they ^[b]have stumbled in their ways,
In the ^(C)ancient roads,
To walk on paths,
Not on a ^(D)highway,
