Isaiah 5:6-8

New International Version

⁶ I will make it a wasteland,^(A)
    neither pruned nor cultivated,
    and briers and thorns^(B) will grow there.
I will command the clouds
    not to rain^(C) on it.”

⁷ The vineyard^(D) of the Lord Almighty
    is the nation of Israel,
and the people of Judah
    are the vines he delighted in.
And he looked for justice,^(E) but saw bloodshed;
    for righteousness,^(F) but heard cries of distress.^(G)
