13 The Lord advances like a warrior;
he stirs up his zeal like a soldier.(A)
He shouts, he roars aloud,
he prevails over his enemies.
14 ‘I have kept silent from ages past;
I have been quiet and restrained myself.(B)
But now, I will groan like a woman in labour,(C)
gasping breathlessly.
15 I will lay waste mountains and hills
and dry up all their vegetation.
I will turn rivers into islands
and dry up marshes.(D)

13 The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man;
He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, (A)yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies.

14 “I have held My peace a long time,
I have been still and restrained Myself.
Now I will cry like a woman in [a]labor,
I will pant and gasp at once.
15 I will lay waste the mountains and hills,
And dry up all their vegetation;
I will make the rivers coastlands,
And I will dry up the pools.
