Isaiah 38:12-14
Good News Translation
12 My life was cut off and ended,
Like a tent that is taken down,
Like cloth that is cut from a loom.
I thought that God was ending my life.[a]
13 All night I cried out with pain,
As if a lion were breaking my bones.
I thought that God was ending my life.[b]
14 My voice was thin and weak,
And I moaned like a dove.
My eyes grew tired from looking to heaven.
Lord, rescue me from all this trouble.

English Standard Version
12 My dwelling is plucked up and removed from me
(A)like a shepherd's tent;

(D)he cuts me off from the loom;
(E)from day to night you bring me to an end;
13 (F)I calmed myself[a] until morning;
like a lion (G)he breaks all my bones;
from day to night you bring me to an end.
14 Like (H)a swallow or a crane I chirp;
(I)I moan like a dove.
(J)My eyes are weary with looking upward.
O Lord, I am oppressed; (K)be my pledge of safety!
