English Standard Version
27 while their inhabitants, shorn of strength,
are dismayed and confounded,
and have become like plants of the field

like grass on the housetops,
blighted[a] before it is grown.
28 “‘I know your sitting down
and your going out and coming in,
and your raging against me.
29 (A)Because you have raged against me
and your complacency has come to my ears,
I will put my hook in your nose
and my bit in your mouth,
and (B)I will turn you back on the way
by which you came.’

Isaiah 37:27-29
New American Standard Bible
27 Therefore their inhabitants were [a]powerless,
They were shattered and put to shame;
They were like the (A)vegetation of the field and the green grass,
Like (B)grass on the housetops [b]that is scorched before it has grown.
28 But I (C)know your sitting down,
Your going out, your coming in,
And your raging against Me.
29 Because of your raging against Me
And because your (D)complacency has come up to My ears,
I will put My (E)hook in your nose
And My (F)bridle in your lips,
And I will turn you back (G)by the way that you came.
