^14 (A)At evening time, behold, terror!
    Before morning, they are no more!
This is the portion of those who loot us,
    and the lot of those who plunder us.

^8 (A)“And the Assyrian shall fall by a sword, not of man;
    and a sword, not of man, shall devour him;
and he shall flee from the sword,
    and his young men shall be ^(B)put to forced labour.

³³ Behold, the Lord God of hosts
    ^(A)will lop ^(B)the boughs with terrifying power;
the great in height will be hewn down,
    and the lofty will be brought low.

²⁵ that ^(A)I will break the Assyrian in my land,
    and on my mountains trample him underfoot;
and ^(B)his yoke shall depart from them,
    and ^(C)his burden from their shoulder.”

⁵ But the multitude of your foreign foes shall be like ^(A)small dust,
    and the multitude of the ruthless like passing chaff.
