Gods woorden over Moab
15 Jesaja zegt: Dit is wat ik van de Heer moet zeggen over Moab.[a]
Luister goed, in de nacht is Ar-Moab vernietigd! Helemaal verwoest! Luister goed, in de nacht is Kir-Moab verwoest! Helemaal vernietigd! 2 De mensen gaan naar Baït en Dibon om te huilen bij de offerheuvels. De bewoners van Moab zullen huilen over hun steden Nebo en Medeba. Als teken van verdriet hebben ze hun hoofd kaal geschoren en hun baard afgeschoren. 3 Ze lopen op straat in rouwkleren. Thuis en op straat huilen ze zonder ophouden.

15 The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence;
2 He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off.
3 In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, every one shall howl, weeping abundantly.

3 In their streets they will clothe themselves with sackcloth;
On the tops of their houses
And in their streets
