^2 (A)Lift up a standard on the ^[a](B)bare hill,
Heighten your voice at them,
^(C)Wave the hand that they may ^(D)enter the doors of the nobles.
³ I have commanded My set apart ones,
I have even called My ^(E)mighty warriors,
My ^[b]proudly exulting ones,
To execute My anger.
⁴ A ^(F)sound of tumult on the mountains,
Like that of many people!
A sound of the rumbling of kingdoms,
Of nations gathered together!
Yahweh of hosts is mustering the host for battle.
⁵ They are coming from a far country,
From the ^(G)end of the sky,
Yahweh and His instruments of ^(H)indignation,
To ^(I)wreak destruction on the whole land.

^3 (A)All you inhabitants of the world and dwellers on earth,
As soon as a standard is raised on the mountains, ^(B)you will see it,
And as soon as the trumpet is blown, you will hear it.

² “^(A)Declare and make it heard among the nations.
Make it heard and ^(B)lift up a standard.
Do not conceal it but say,
‘^(C)Babylon has been captured;
^(D)Bel has been put to shame; ^[a]Marduk has been ^[b]shattered;
Her ^(E)images have been put to shame; her idols have been shattered.’
