24 Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts: O my people, who live in Zion, do not be afraid of the Assyrians when they beat you with a rod and lift up their staff against you as the Egyptians did. 25 For in a very little while my indignation will come to an end, and my anger will be directed to their destruction. 26 The Lord of hosts will wield a whip against them, as when he struck Midian at the rock of Oreb; his staff will be over the sea, and he will lift it as he did in Egypt.

“My people who live in Zion,(A)
    do not be afraid(B) of the Assyrians,
who beat(C) you with a rod(D)
    and lift up a club against you, as Egypt did.
25 Very soon(E) my anger against you will end
    and my wrath(F) will be directed to their destruction.(G)

26 The Lord Almighty will lash(H) them with a whip,
    as when he struck down Midian(I) at the rock of Oreb;
and he will raise his staff(J) over the waters,(K)
    as he did in Egypt.
