The Glorious Future

¹⁰ “For thus says the Lord, ‘When ^(A)seventy years have been completed for Babylon, I will visit you and fulfill My ^(B)good word to you, to bring you back to this place.

⁴² For thus says the Lord, ‘^(A)Just as I brought all this great disaster on this people, so I am going to ^(B)bring on them all the good that I am promising them.

^9 [a]It will be to Me a ^(A)name of joy, praise and glory before ^(B)all the nations of the earth which will hear of all the ^(C)good that I do for them, and they will ^(D)fear and tremble because of all the good and all the peace that I make for it.’

²³ “Then I will ^(A)set over them one ^(B)shepherd, My servant ^(C)David, and he will feed them; he will feed them himself and be their shepherd. ²⁴ And I, the Lord, will be their God, and My servant ^(D)David will be prince among them; I the Lord have spoken.

²⁵ “I will make a ^(E)covenant of peace with them and ^(F)eliminate harmful beasts from the land so that they may ^(G)live securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.

⁶ For thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘^(A)Once more ^[a]in a ^(B)little while, I am going to ^(C)shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land. ⁷ I will shake ^(D)all the nations; and ^[b]they will come with the ^(E)wealth of all nations, and I will ^(F)fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ⁸ ‘The ^(G)silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares the Lord of hosts. ⁹ ‘The latter ^(H)glory of this house will be greater than the ^(I)former,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘and in this place I will give ^(J)peace,’ declares the Lord of hosts.”
