2 După trei(A) zile, căpeteniile oastei au trecut prin tabără 3 şi au dat poporului următoarea poruncă: „Când(B) veţi vedea chivotul legământului Domnului, Dumnezeului vostru, dus de preoţi(C), care sunt din neamul leviţilor, să plecaţi din locul în care sunteţi şi să porniţi după el. 4 Dar(D) între voi şi el să fie o depărtare de aproape două mii de coţi; să nu vă apropiaţi de el. El vă va arăta drumul pe care trebuie să-l urmaţi, căci n-aţi mai trecut pe drumul acesta.”

2 După trei zile dregătorii poporului au străbătut tabăra 3 şi au poruncit poporului: „Când veţi vedea Chivotul Legământului cu Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, dus de preoţii leviţi, să porniţi din locul în care sunteţi şi să-l urmaţi. 4 Dar între voi şi el să păstraţi o distanţă de două mii de coţi[a]. Să nu vă apropiaţi de el! Prin el voi veţi cunoaşte drumul pe care trebuie să mergeţi, căci nu aţi mai trecut niciodată pe drumul acesta.“

2 After three days(A) the officers(B) went throughout the camp,(C) 3 giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant(D) of the Lord your God, and the Levitical(E) priests(F) carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. 4 Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits[a](G) between you and the ark; do not go near it.”
