Şi câte uliţi are Ierusalimul, atâtea altare aţi ridicat idolilor, altare ca să aduceţi tămâie lui Baal!… 14 Tu însă nu mijloci(B) pentru poporul acesta, nu înălţa nici cereri, nici rugăciuni pentru ei, căci nu-i voi asculta nicidecum când Mă vor chema din pricina nenorocirii lor. 15 Ce ar putea(C) să facă preaiubitul Meu popor în Casa Mea? Să facă o mulţime de nelegiuiri(D) în ea? Vor îndepărta juruinţele şi carnea sfântă(E) răutatea dinaintea ta? Atunci ai putea să te(F) bucuri!

13 For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.

14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.

15 What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

13 (A)For your gods have become as many as your cities, O Judah, and as many as the streets of Jerusalem are the altars you have set up to shame, (B)altars to make offerings to Baal.

14 “Therefore (C)do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer on their behalf, (D)for I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their trouble. 15 (E)What right has my beloved in my house, (F)when she has done many vile deeds? Can even sacrificial flesh avert your doom? (G)Can you then exult?
