Hosea 11:3-5

New King James Version

³“I^(A) taught Ephraim to walk,
Taking them by ^[a]their arms;
But they did not know that ^(B)I healed them.
⁴I drew them with ^[b]gentle cords,
With bands of love,
And ^(C)I was to them as those who take the yoke from their ^[c]neck.
^(D)I stooped and fed them.

⁵“He shall not return to the land of Egypt;
But the Assyrian shall be his king,
Because they refused to repent.

³It was I who taught Ephraim to walk,
    taking them by the arms;^(A)
but they did not realize
    it was I who healed^(B) them.
⁴I led them with cords of human kindness,
    with ties of love.^(C)
To them I was like one who lifts
    a little child to the cheek,
    and I bent down to feed^(D) them.^(E)
