Hosea 3

3 Then the Lord said to me, “Go, and get your wife again and bring her back to you and love her, even though she loves adultery. For the Lord still loves Israel though she has turned to other gods and offered them choice gifts.”
2 So I bought her back from her slavery[a] for a couple of dollars and eight bushels of barley, 3 and I said to her, “You must live alone for many days; do not go out with other men nor be a prostitute, and I will wait for you.”
4 This illustrates the fact that Israel will be a long time without a king or prince, and without an altar, Temple, priests, or even idols!
5 Afterward they will return to the Lord their God and to the Messiah, their King,[b] and they shall come trembling, submissive to the Lord and to his blessings in the end times.

Hosea försonas med sin hustru
3 Herren sa till mig: Gå och hämta din fru. Ta henne tillbaka till dig och älska henne även om hon fortsätter att vara otrogen. Älska henne som Herren älskar Israels barn, trots att de har vänt sig till andra gudar och offrat till dem vad de har begärt.
2 Därför friköpte jag min hustru ur hennes slaveri för en summa pengar och lite korn,
3 och jag sa till henne: Nu måste du leva ensam en tid. Du får inte vara tillsammans med andra män och inte prostituera dig. Jag ska vänta på dig.
4 På samma sätt ska Israel under en lång tid tvingas leva utan kung, utan furste, utan altare, utan tempel, utan präster och utan möjlighet att rådfråga sin Gud!
5 Men sedan ska Israels folk vända tillbaka till Herren, sin Gud, och till David, sin kung, och de ska komma bävande och ödmjuka till Herren och till det goda han vill ge under kommande dagar.

Israel Will Return to God
3 Then the Lord said to me, “Go again, love a woman who is loved by a (A)lover[a] and is committing adultery, just like the love of the Lord for the children of Israel, who look to other gods and love the raisin cakes of the pagans.”
2 So I bought her for myself for fifteen shekels of silver, and one and one-half homers of barley. 3 And I said to her, “You shall (B)stay with me many days; you shall not play the harlot, nor shall you have a man—so, too, will I be toward you.”
4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days (C)without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without (D)ephod or (E)teraphim. 5 Afterward the children of Israel shall return and (F)seek the Lord their God and (G)David their king. They shall fear the Lord and His goodness in the (H)latter days.
