Hosea 10:7-9

7 As for Samaria, her king is cut off
Like a twig on the water.
8 Also the (A)high places of [a]Aven, (B)the sin of Israel,
Shall be destroyed.
The thorn and thistle shall grow on their altars;
(C)They shall say to the mountains, “Cover us!”
And to the hills, “Fall on us!”
9 “O Israel, you have sinned from the days of (D)Gibeah;
There they stood.
The (E)battle in Gibeah against the children of [b]iniquity
Did not [c]overtake them.

Like a twig on the surface of the water.
8 Also the (B)high places of Aven, the (C)sin of Israel, will be destroyed;
(D)Thorns and thistles will grow on their altars;
Then they will (E)say to the mountains,
“Cover us!” And to the hills, “Fall on us!”
9 Since the days of Gibeah you have sinned, Israel;
There they stand!
Will the battle against the sons of injustice not overtake them in Gibeah?

7 (A)Samaria's king shall perish
like a twig on the face of the waters.
8 The high places of (B)Aven, (C)the sin of Israel,
shall be destroyed.
(D)Thorn and thistle shall grow up
on their altars,
and (E)they shall say to the mountains, “Cover us,”
and to the hills, “Fall on us.”
9 From (F)the days of Gibeah, you have sinned, O Israel;
there they have continued.
Shall not the war against the unjust[a] overtake them in Gibeah?
