And (A)no one takes the honor to himself, but receives it when he is called by God, even (B)as Aaron was.

So also Christ (C)did not glorify Himself so as to become a (D)high priest, but He who (E)said to Him,

(F)You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You”;

just as He says also in another passage,

(G)You are a priest forever
According to (H)the order of Melchizedek.”

[a]In the days of His flesh, [b](I)He offered up both prayers and supplications with (J)loud crying and tears to the One (K)able to save Him [c]from death, and He [d]was heard because of His (L)piety. Although He was (M)a Son, He learned (N)obedience from the things which He suffered. And having been made (O)perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation, 10 being designated by God as (P)a high priest according to (Q)the order of Melchizedek.
