19 the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them, 20 for they could not stand that which was commanded, “If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned”.[a](A) 21 So fearful was the appearance that Moses said, “I am terrified and trembling.”(B)

19 to a trumpet blast(A) or to such a voice speaking words(B) that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them,(C) 20 because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.”[a](D) 21 The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.”[b](E)
