17 Dan shall be a [a]serpent by the way, an adder by the path, biting the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.

18 [b]O Lord, I have waited for thy salvation.

19 ¶ Gad, a host of men shall overcome him, but he shall overcome at the last.

18 “I look for your deliverance,(D) Lord.(E)

19 “Gad[a](F) will be attacked by a band of raiders,
    but he will attack them at their heels.(G)
