Genesis 48:3-5
New Living Translation
3 Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty[a] appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me. 4 He said to me, ‘I will make you fruitful, and I will multiply your descendants. I will make you a multitude of nations. And I will give this land of Canaan to your descendants[b] after you as an everlasting possession.’
5 “Now I am claiming as my own sons these two boys of yours, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were born here in the land of Egypt before I arrived. They will be my sons, just as Reuben and Simeon are.

3 Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty[a](A) appeared to me at Luz(B) in the land of Canaan, and there he blessed me(C) 4 and said to me, ‘I am going to make you fruitful and increase your numbers.(D) I will make you a community of peoples, and I will give this land(E) as an everlasting possession to your descendants after you.’(F)
5 “Now then, your two sons born to you in Egypt(G) before I came to you here will be reckoned as mine; Ephraim and Manasseh will be mine,(H) just as Reuben(I) and Simeon(J) are mine.
