Ang Taggutom at ang Bunga Noon

13 Noon ay walang pagkain sa buong lupain sapagkat matindi ang taggutom, at ang lupain ng Ehipto at ang lupain ng Canaan ay nanghina dahil sa taggutom.

14 Kaya't tinipon ni Jose ang lahat ng salapi na natagpuan sa lupain ng Ehipto at Canaan, kapalit ng trigong kanilang binibili at ipinasok ni Jose ang salapi sa bahay ng Faraon.

15 Nang ang salapi ay maubos nang lahat sa lupain ng Ehipto at Canaan, pumunta kay Jose ang lahat ng mga Ehipcio, at nagsabi, “Bigyan mo kami ng pagkain, bakit kami mamamatay sa iyong harapan? Sapagkat ang aming salapi ay naubos na.”

13 And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and all the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine.

14 And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh's house.

15 And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth.

Joseph and the Famine

13 There was no food, however, in the whole region because the famine was severe; both Egypt and Canaan wasted away because of the famine.(A) 14 Joseph collected all the money that was to be found in Egypt and Canaan in payment for the grain they were buying,(B) and he brought it to Pharaoh’s palace.(C) 15 When the money of the people of Egypt and Canaan was gone,(D) all Egypt came to Joseph(E) and said, “Give us food. Why should we die before your eyes?(F) Our money is all gone.”
