Genesis 43:8-10

New King James Version

⁸Then Judah said to Israel his father, “Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go, that we may ^(A)live and not die, both we and you and also our little ones. ⁹I myself will be surety for him; from my hand you shall require him. ^(B)If I do not bring him back to you and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever. ¹⁰For if we had not lingered, surely by now we would have returned this second time.”

⁸So Judah said to his father Israel, “Send the boy with me and we will arise and go, ^(A)so that we may live and not die, we as well as you and our little ones. ⁹^(B)I myself will take responsibility for him! You may demand him back from ^[a]me. If I do not bring him back to you and present him to you, then ^[b]you can let me take the blame forever. ¹⁰For if we had not delayed, surely by now we could have returned twice.”

Genesis 43:8-10

⁸Then Judah^(A) said to Israel^(B) his father, “Send the boy along with me and we will go at once, so that we and you and our children may live and not die.^(C) ⁹I myself will guarantee his safety; you can hold me personally responsible for him.^(D) If I do not bring him back to you and set him here before you, I will bear the blame^(E) before you all my life.^(F) ¹⁰As it is, if we had not delayed,^(G) we could have gone and returned twice.”
