²¹And he restored the chief butler to his butlership, and the butler gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand;

²²But [Pharaoh] hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them.

²³But [even after all that] the chief butler gave no thought to Joseph, but forgot [all about] him.

²¹He restored the chief cupbearer^(A) to his position,^(B) so that he once again put the cup into Pharaoh’s hand^(C)— ²²but he impaled the chief baker,^(D) just as Joseph had said to them in his interpretation.^(E)

²³The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.^(F)
