Genesis 35:7-9

New International Version

⁷ There he built an altar,^(A) and he called the place El Bethel,^[a](B) because it was there that God revealed himself to him^(C) when he was fleeing from his brother.^(D)

⁸ Now Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse,^(E) died and was buried under the oak^(F) outside Bethel.^(G) So it was named Allon Bakuth.^[b]

⁹ After Jacob returned from Paddan Aram,^[c](H) God appeared to him again and blessed him.^(I)
