³⁰ Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, “You have ^(A)brought trouble on me by ^(B)making me repulsive among the inhabitants of the land, among ^(C)the Canaanites and the Perizzites; and ^[a](D)since my men are few in number, they will band together against me and ^[b]attack me, and I will be destroyed, I and my household!”

¹² So Achish believed David, saying, “He has undoubtedly made himself repulsive among his people Israel; therefore he will become my servant forever.”
