28 And said he, (A)Thy name shall be called Jacob no more, but Israel: because thou hast had [a]power with God, thou shalt also prevail with men.
29 And Jacob demanded, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore now dost thou ask my name? and he blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place, Peniel: for, said he, I have seen God face to face, and [b]my life is preserved.
