²⁸ Then ^(A)he said, “Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but ^[a]Israel; for you have contended with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

^10 (A)God said to him,

So He called ^[b]him Israel.

³⁴ To this day they act in accordance with the earlier customs: they do not fear the Lord, nor do they ^[a]follow their statutes, their ordinances, the Law, or the commandments which the Lord commanded the sons of Jacob, ^(A)whom He named Israel.
