Jacob Wrestles With God

²² That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two female servants and his eleven sons^(A) and crossed the ford of the Jabbok.^(B)

³³ Then Moses gave to the Gadites,^(A) the Reubenites and the half-tribe of Manasseh^(B) son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites^(C) and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan^(D)—the whole land with its cities and the territory around them.^(E)

¹³ The king of the Ammonites answered Jephthah’s messengers, “When Israel came up out of Egypt, they took away my land from the Arnon^(A) to the Jabbok,^(B) all the way to the Jordan. Now give it back peaceably.”
