Genesis 32:18-20

¹⁸ “Then you shall say, ‘They are your servant, Jacob’s. It is a present sent to my lord, Esau. And behold, he himself also is behind us.’”

¹⁹ So, likewise, he commanded the second and the third, and all that followed the flocks, saying, “After this manner you shall speak to Esau, when you find him.

²⁰ “And you shall say, moreover, ‘Behold, your servant Jacob comes after us.’ For he thought, “I will appease his wrath with the present that goes before me; and afterward, I will see his face. It may be that he will accept me.”
