Genesis 31:8-10

⁸“When Laban said, ‘The speckled ones will be your wages,’ then all the flock gave birth to speckled ones. Then when he said, ‘The streaked ones will be your wages,’ all the flock gave birth to streaked offspring.

⁹“So God has taken away your father’s livestock and has given them to me. ¹⁰As it was, when it was time for the livestock to breed, I once looked up in a dream, and the male goats that were mating^[a] with the flock were producing streaked, speckled, and spotted offspring.

⁸If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked.

⁹Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.

¹⁰And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled.

⁸If he said, ‘The speckled ones will be your wages,’ then all the flocks gave birth to speckled young; and if he said, ‘The streaked ones will be your wages,’^(A) then all the flocks bore streaked young. ⁹So God has taken away your father’s livestock^(B) and has given them to me.^(C)

¹⁰“In breeding season I once had a dream^(D) in which I looked up and saw that the male goats mating with the flock were streaked, speckled or spotted.
