Genesis 31:48-50

48 Then Laban said, “This mound is a witness between you and me today.” Therefore the place was called Galeed 49 and also Mizpah,[a](A) for he said, “May the Lord watch between you and me when we are out of each other’s sight. 50 If you mistreat my daughters or take other wives, though no one is with us, understand that God will be a witness between you and me.”(B)

New International Version
48 Laban said, “This heap(A) is a witness between you and me today.”(B) That is why it was called Galeed. 49 It was also called Mizpah,[a](C) because he said, “May the Lord keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other. 50 If you mistreat(D) my daughters or if you take any wives besides my daughters, even though no one is with us, remember that God is a witness(E) between you and me.”(F)
