² Jacob became angry with her and said, “Am I in the place of God,^(A) who has kept you from having children?”^(B)

³⁴ Now go, lead^(A) the people to the place^(B) I spoke of, and my angel^(C) will go before you. However, when the time comes for me to punish,^(D) I will punish them for their sin.”

¹⁹ Do not take revenge,^(A) my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”^[a](B) says the Lord.

³⁰ For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”^[a](A) and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”^[b](B)
