⁴ “I am ^(A)a stranger and a foreign resident among you; ^(B)give me ^[a]a ^(C)burial site among you so that I may bury my dead out of my sight.”

⁹ So Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The ^[a](A)years of my living abroad are ^[b]130; few and ^[c]unpleasant have been the ^[d]years of my life, nor have they ^[e]attained ^(B)the ^[f]years ^[g]that my fathers lived during the days of their living abroad.”

¹⁵ For ^(A)we are strangers before You, and temporary residents, as all our fathers were; ^(B)our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no hope.

¹⁹ So then you are no longer ^(A)strangers and foreigners, but you are ^(B)fellow citizens with the ^[a]saints, and are of ^(C)God’s household,

To those who reside as ^(B)strangers, ^(C)scattered throughout ^(D)Pontus, ^(E)Galatia, ^(F)Cappadocia, ^(G)Asia, and ^(H)Bithynia, ^(I)who are chosen

^11 (A)Beloved, ^(B)I urge you as ^(C)foreigners and strangers to abstain from ^(D)fleshly lusts, which wage ^(E)war against the soul.
