³ But ^(A)God came to Abimelech ^(B)in a dream by night, and said to him, ^(C)“Indeed you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is ^[a]a man’s wife.”

²⁹ It is in my power to do you harm, but the ^(A)God of your father spoke to me ^(B)last night, saying, ‘Be careful that you speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.’

² Then God spoke to Israel ^(A)in the visions of the night, and said, “Jacob, Jacob!”

And he said, “Here I am.”

³ So He said, “I am God, ^(B)the God of your father; do not fear to go down to Egypt, for I will ^(C)make of you a great nation there. ^4 (D)I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely ^(E)bring you up again; and ^(F)Joseph ^[a]will put his hand on your eyes.”

²⁰ But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, ^(A)for that which is ^[a]conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
