21 And Yahweh God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man.[a] While[b] he slept, he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh where it had been.[c] 22 And Yahweh God fashioned the rib which he had taken from the man[d] into a woman and brought her to the man.[e] 23 And the man[f] said,

She is now[g] bone from my bones
    and flesh from my flesh;
she[h] shall be called ‘Woman,’
    for she was taken[i] from man.”

22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
