¹⁷ Then Abraham fell on his face ^(A)and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?”

¹⁸ And Zacharias said to the angel, ^(A)“How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.”

¹⁹ And not being weak in faith, ^(A)he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), ^(B)and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.

¹¹ By faith ^(A)Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and ^(B)she^[a] bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him ^(C)faithful who had promised.

¹² Therefore from one man, and him as good as ^(A)dead, were born as many as the ^(B)stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.

¹⁹ concluding that God ^(A)was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.
