¹³ Then God said to Abram, “Know for certain that ^(A)your ^[a]descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, ^[b]where ^(B)they will be enslaved and oppressed for ^(C)four hundred years.

¹⁴ But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward they will come out ^(A)with ^[a]many possessions.

⁴⁰ Now the time ^[a]that the sons of Israel had lived in Egypt was ^(A)430 years.

⁴¹ And at the end of 430 years, on ^(A)this very day, ^(B)all the ^[a]multitudes of the Lord departed from the land of Egypt.

⁶ But ^(A)God spoke to this effect, that his descendants would be strangers in a land that was not theirs, and ^[a]they would enslave and mistreat them for four hundred years.

⁷ ‘And whatever nation to which they are enslaved I Myself will judge,’ said God, ‘and ^(A)after that they will come out and ^[a]serve Me in this place.’
