¹³ Then ^[a]a survivor came and told Abram the ^(A)Hebrew. Now he was residing by the ^[b](B)oaks of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner, and they were ^[c](C)allies with Abram.

¹⁵ Then the king of Egypt spoke to the Hebrew midwives, one of whom ^[a]was named Shiphrah, and the other ^[b]was named Puah;

¹³ Now he went out ^(A)the next day, and behold, two Hebrews were ^[a]fighting with each other; and he said to the ^[b]offender, “Why are you striking your companion?”
