¹⁰ Lot raised his eyes and saw all the ^[a]vicinity of the ^(A)Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere—this was before the Lord ^(B)destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah—like ^(C)the garden of the Lord, ^(D)like the land of Egypt ^[b]going toward ^(E)Zoar.

³ All these kings ^[a]came as allies to ^(A)the Valley of Siddim (that is, ^(B)the Salt Sea).

²⁴ Then the Lord ^(A)rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of heaven,

²⁵ and ^(A)He overthrew those cities, and all the surrounding area, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.

²³ ‘All its land is ^(A)brimstone and salt, ^(B)burned debris, ^[a]unsown and unproductive, and no grass grows on it, like the overthrow of ^(C)Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His anger and in His wrath.’
