⁵ And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens and ^(A)count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “^(B)So shall your ^[a]descendants be.”

⁶ I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and ^(D)kings will come from you.

¹⁷ indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly ^(A)multiply your ^[a]seed as the stars of the heavens and as ^(B)the sand, which is on the seashore; and ^(C)your ^[b]seed shall possess the gate of ^[c]their enemies. ¹⁸ And ^(D)in your ^[d]seed all the nations of the earth shall ^[e]be blessed, because you have ^(E)obeyed My voice.” ^19 (F)So Abraham returned to his young men, and they got up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham lived in Beersheba.

²⁰ Now it came about after these things, that Abraham was told, saying, “Behold, ^(G)Milcah ^[f]also has borne children to your brother Nahor: ²¹ Uz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel (the father of Aram), ²² Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel”— ²³ and it was Bethuel who fathered ^(H)Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham’s brother. ²⁴ His concubine, whose name was Reumah, ^[g]also gave birth to Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.
