Genesis 17:19-21

19 But God said, “No. Your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac.[a] I will confirm my covenant with him as a permanent covenant for his future offspring. 20 As for Ishmael, I have heard you. I will certainly bless him; I will make him fruitful and will multiply him greatly. He will father twelve tribal leaders,(A) and I will make him into a great nation. 21 But I will confirm my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this time next year.”(B)

2 The Lord appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt. Live in the land that I tell you about; 3 stay in this land as an alien, and I will be with you and bless you.(A) For I will give all these lands to you and your offspring,(B) and I will confirm the oath that I swore to your father Abraham.(C) 4 I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky, I will give your offspring all these lands, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed[a] by your offspring,(D) 5 because Abraham listened to me and kept my mandate, my commands, my statutes, and my instructions.”(E) 6 So Isaac settled in Gerar.
