³³ Now therefore, please let your servant remain as a slave to my lord in place of the boy, and let the boy go back with his brothers.

¹⁶ We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers and sisters.^(A)

²² accordingly Jesus has also become the guarantor of a better covenant.^(A)

³ For I could wish that I myself were accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my own brothers and sisters, my own flesh and blood.^(A)

⁷ Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. ⁸ But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.^{(A) 9} Much more surely, therefore, since we have now been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath of God.^{[a](B) 10} For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more surely, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life.^(C)

³² But now, if you will only forgive their sin—but if not, please blot me out of the book that you have written.”^(A)
