¹⁶ When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ^(A)steward of his house, “Take these men to my home, and slaughter ^[a]an animal and make ready; for these men will dine with me at noon.”

Joseph’s Cup

44 And he commanded ^[a]the ^(A)steward of his house, saying, ^(B)“Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put each man’s money in the mouth of his sack.

¹⁹ When they drew near to the steward of Joseph’s house, they talked with him at the door of the house,

^11 (A)Shall I then take my bread and my water and my ^[a]meat that I have killed for my shearers, and give it to men when I do not know where they are from?”

⁴ When they had gone out of the city, and were not yet far off, Joseph said to his steward, “Get up, follow the men; and when you overtake them, say to them, ‘Why have you ^(A)repaid evil for good?

⁴ So Joseph ^(A)found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him ^(B)overseer of his house, and all that he had he put ^[a]under his authority. ⁵ So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that ^(C)the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field.

⁵⁴ Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain, and called his brethren to eat bread. And they ate bread and stayed all night on the mountain.

^30 (A)So he made them a feast, and they ate and drank.

² So Abraham said ^(A)to the oldest servant of his house, who ^(B)ruled over all that he had, “Please, ^(C)put your hand under my thigh, ³ and I will make you ^(D)swear^[a] by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that ^(E)you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell; ^4 (F)but you shall go ^(G)to my country and to my family, and take a wife for my son Isaac.”
