¹¹ We are all the sons of one man. Your servants^(A) are honest men,^(B) not spies.^(C)”

⁴ Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses;

¹⁹ If you are honest men,^(A) let one of your brothers stay here in prison,^(B) while the rest of you go and take grain back for your starving households.^(C)

¹⁸ Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory,^(A) but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

³³ “Then the man who is lord over the land said to us, ‘This is how I will know whether you are honest men: Leave one of your brothers here with me, and take food for your starving households and go.^{(A) 34} But bring your youngest brother to me so I will know that you are not spies but honest men.^(B) Then I will give your brother back to you,^(C) and you can trade^[a] in the land.^(D)’”
